Williams JG, Madoff RD, and Goldberg SM. Choice of Procedure for Rectal Prolapse. Seminars in Colon and Rectal Surgery. 2:217-226, 1991

Rectal prolapse is a condition for which a large number of operations have been described. This article provides a wonderful comprehensive review of these operations, with cumulative results in an easily understandable tabular form. Specific factors involved in choice of operation are reviewed, as are specific and potentially unique situations that may influence choice of operation.
